Thoughts from the Guru

Love has to spring spontaneously from within. It is in no way amenable to any form of inner or outer force. Though love cannot be forced on anyone, it can be awakened in oneself. Love is essentially self-communicative. Those who do not have it catch it from those who have it. True love is unconquerable and irresistible…and it goes on gathering power and spreading itself, until eventually it transforms everyone who touches it.

-Meher Baba

The message you communicate with an other human being has nothing to do with what you say. It has nothing to do with the look on the musculature of your face. It’s much deeper than that. Much deeper.
It’s the vibrations that emanate from you.

-Ram Dass

The Law of Vibration- the basis of manifestation. Nothing in the Universe rests. Everything moves and is in a constant state of vibration and motion.

It’s a Sign!

All this talk about Be Love Now and Be Here Now…

I’m listening to my Pandora. The station is Bon Iver.

and the song that comes on is called…..

BE HERE NOW !!!!!! by Ray Lamontagne

The lyrics go a little something like this..

Don’t let your mind get weary and confused
Your will be still, don’t try
Don’t let your heart get heavy child
Inside you there’s a strength that lies

Don’t let your soul get lonely child
It’s only time, it will go by
Don’t look for love in faces, places
It’s in you, that’s where you’ll find kindness

Be here now, here now
Be here now, here now

Don’t lose your faith in me
And I will try not to lose faith in you
Don’t put your trust in walls
‘Cause walls will only crush you when they fall

Be here now, here now
Be here now, here now

So Here We Are…

…living our day to day lives, not following the path of the heart.

Don't let moments pass you by.

Today’s society has made it more and more difficult to for us to live a life of simplicity and love. We are constantly being pulled every which way, trying to be in two places at once. Our current way of life has made the idea of be here now an incessant struggle. The idea is completely foreign to some.

Instead of living in the moment and taking in all the little details of each moment, our minds race, wondering what we have to do once we are done with our current task. What is next on the “to-do” list? Where will I be after that? Will I have time to do this?

Think to yourself. When was the last time you had a face-to-face conversation with someone. What do you remember about that conversation? Were you listening intently in that moment? Did your cell phone go off? Was your mind wandering? It has been so difficult to actually stay in tune and live in the moment with all of the distractions being introduced to us.

Take in ALL of the little details.

Next time you are conversing with someone (a friend, family member, or co-worker), pay attention. Pay attention to that moment. Be there, in that moment. While you are telling your story, see how often your listener disengages from your story. They may still be listening,  but instead of being there, in that moment, and sharing it with you…you may find they are simultaneously engaging in various other tasks.

I am not saying this is a bad thing. I’m just suggesting to be aware and you will realize what our society has come to. Indeed, we are products of our environment. And it seems as though we are slowly but surely losing sight of what really matters in life.

Not the cars. Not the money. Not the iPhone. Not the clothes. None of it matters. If you are here now, you will soon realize none of it matters.

Take in each moment. Every scent. Every sound. Every color. Every texture. Every crevice. Every little detail.

This will bring you a sense of fulfillment you may never have experienced before.

Seriously. Try it out. =)

A Little Poem About Love

I carry your heart with me. (I carry it in my heart).
I am never without it (anywhere I go, you go, my dear, and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling).
I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet).
I want no world (for beautiful, you are my world, my true).
And you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing, is you.
Here is the deepest secret nobody knows:

There is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky… of a tree called life. Which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide, and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart.

I carry your heart. (I carry it in my heart).

-E.E. Cummings.

This poem can be taken for face value. A beautiful poem written by E.E. Cummings for the love of his life.
The beauty of love is this:
it doesn’t have to be for one specific individual, it can be a way of life.
Reread the poem to yourself and picture who you would give that poem to. Read it again and replace that person with life.

If one opens their heart, lives in the moment and allows oneself to love their life, always…the only fear left to fear is happiness..
because that’s what will result from a life full of love and an open heart.

There IS the root of the root.
There IS the sky of the sky.
There is also the heart of hearts.

Which is your heart. ❤

Same Same… but Different

We are here today…

…Where will we be tomorrow?

What is right?

Who’s to say?

What is wrong?

Our experiences shape who we are as individuals and how we think. Let these experiences be the deciding factors in who we are. There is no right. There is no wrong.

There is you.

There is me.

There is us.

-“living in a tri-polar world”-

The world is as it is and that should be enough.

We cannot change what we cannot change.

So, where does this leave us?

That’s for you to decide.

to each his own.

Love is acceptance. It isn’t here to argue or instigate. Often we are faced with situations where we feel compelled to become angry or sad because something doesn’t sit right with us. Maybe someone didn’t fulfill your expectations. Maybe you spilled coffee on yourself. Maybe your project partner is a Republican and you happen to be a Democrat.

Despite all of this. Try your best to do one thing

Accept the fact that your shirt is stained. Embrace it.
Accept that you can’t control people.
Accept that you can’t change someone’s mind.
Accept that everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Accept that we all share a heartbeat.

Welcome the world with open arms. Just as you do your open heart.

The beautiful thing is. We may have differences with others, but at the end of the day we are all the same.

As they say in Vietnam

Same Same…but Different.

The Main Ingredient

As I’m sure you have figured out by now. My blog is focus on love and the idea of always embodying love as a state of being.

With that said, I have decided to reveal some research to further reinforce the idea that LOVE is a state of being and will always bring happiness to one’s self.

Uriel G. Foa explains that people exchange six main resources in their interactions and relationships with individuals around them.

1. Love – warmth and affection

2. Status – respect and esteem

3. Information

4. Money

5. Goods

6.  Resource

With her research, she found that we exchange love, status and information the most frequently. Research showed that the aspect that took precedence depended on which resource the individual valued the most.

For example, individuals who were raised in a loving home, valued love as the primary resource vs. individuals who lacked love in their home. The individuals with a far less abundance of love in their home reported to have valued status and information over the idea of love.
